It is hard to recall a family of a fallen agent that has been treated as shabbily as the family of slain agent Brian Terry. First the Obama Admin. refused to share details of the case, or name the accused. Then they had a judge seal the case. Then a judge added insult to injury by denying them "victim" status in the case

I wish them nothing but the best in their efforts to receive justice for Brian. I am ashamed that both the Obama and Bush Administrations have failed at their responsibility to support these front line warriors who seem to have a thankless task (protecting our borders) !!

Where is the shabby treatment of Terry's family? Nothing in the article said that, and your comments are trying to add oranges to apples to make lemonade. The criminal case has nothing at all to do with Terry's family or their rights, if any, under the law; that the record is sealed to protect identies of agents and informants is rather common, and does not prevent a claim against the ATF or Lone Wolf from moving forward.
And as a general proposition, since Terry was a federal employee, their claims against the government are limited to workers comp--just as they are for every other federal employee. I can't imagine that his comp claim is still pending at this time; rather, his family is seeking damages in excess of the payments they have undoubtedly already received. Their hurdles to recovery, hurdles which have nothing to do with Terry, the manner of his death, or F&F, are huge, and probably insurmountable.
Hopefully a lawsuit will expose this cover up to the light of day.
