Sometimes you have to take a stand on what you believe in. I am sure we would have had several Jihads and calls to behead the choir master if he/she had made the decistion to sing a christian song in a class of Muslims.

All he's standing for is his belief that his belief should be applicable in what other kids get to do. Does singing a song of romance means you are a romantic? No. His actions are silly.

I think this young man has every right to opt out rather than participate in something that is counter to his personal beliefs. No where does it say he demanded the song not be sung by those who wish to do so. He is respecting the rights of his fellow students and the school to perform the song and is simply removing himself from doing so.
He's actually showing a lot more maturity than most viners and others who disagree on these issues since he is making no demands, not denying others' rights to do as they see fit for themselves, etc. We all should be as respectful as he is being when we disagree with each other by simply conducting our business for ourselves and not expecting others to follow suit but allowing them to make their own choices with a no harm no foul approach.
Good for him!

oh brother, what's the punishment for that... stoning or beheading? /s
Hey, it's his call.
He'll simply pay for his ignorance by volunatrily stepping away from something he likes to do. He's right up there with the silly rhetoric about Jihad and beheadings. lol

It seems Imam Abdur-Rahim Ali, from the Northeast Denver Islamic Center needs to study a little.....
“I think it’s a lack of knowledge,” he says. “There’s some ignorance on his part concerning the name Allah. It’s the same God that Jesus prayed to, Moses prayed to, Mohammed prayed to.”
Jesus prayed to his Father, Mohammed denied that God is Jesus father so how did they pray to the same God?

He didn't deny the god but denied the man's heritage to said god. Same god tho. It's like a kid named Joe running around saying Jack is his father. If you say that is untrue, it doesn't erase your knowledge of or relationship with Jack too.

Methinks the studying needs to be done elsewhere.

If any man denies Christ and who he was...that man denies the father......

Uh no. Judiasm is the same but they don't deny the God figure of the Abrahamic religions either. Islam doesn't deny Christ. It recognizes he as a prophet. It's the superhero label that was stolen from older myths in that area at the time that is denied.
All I can say is thank allagod that there is always a fresh crop of morons coming up in america so that the football teams and the republicans never run out.

The phrase there is no god but god is pretty universal to the monotheistic religions. It's a rehash of the 1st commandment. I am your god and you shall have no other gods. The kid can do whatever he likes though. I'm an atheist and sang a Christian hymn in chorus when I was a kid. To each their own. No one's forcing him to do anything he doesn't want.

In other news, High school student refuses to do his math homework (or al-jebr, as the Islamicists like to call it) he says goes against his strong Christian beliefs.
"I shouldn't be forced to use a numbering system I don't believe in," he stated, referring to the Hindu-Arabic numeral system. "Roman numerals were good enough for the early Christians, and they're good enough for me."
